Born and raised in eastern North Carolina, Cameron Smith of CL Smith Construction became entrenched in all of the coastal activities that make our part of the country so special. After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1992, he moved to the Wilmington area and became involved in real estate sales and homebuilding. He founded CL Smith Construction in 1996 and moved his family and operation to Southport in 1999, where they currently reside.
Through the years, the company has built a wide variety of custom homes
in the nearby communities, as well as developed townhomes and cottage neighborhoods. We have extensive knowledge of most area communities and often help our clients find the perfect home site in the right community.

Cameron and CL Smith Construction became ENERGY STAR partners in 2004, and ever since, we have made every effort to stay on the cutting edge of green building practices. Cameron has attended numerous green building seminars and conferences to expand his knowledge, and he has also earned the Certified Green Professional (CGP) designation through the NAHB. Cameron is currently working toward green certifications with three other programs: LEED, NAHB Green, and NC Healthy Built Homes.
